Michele’s Daily Blog 4/1/21

Today I found myself in the beautiful historical town of Port Townsend, WA. I drove over the Hood Canal Bridge on Hwy 104 to the Olympic Peninsula, from there I took a right onto Hwy 19 to the Quimper Peninsula, in Jefferson County. It’s a beautiful drive, and an hour later I arrived at the seaside town of Port Townsend. I love driving the winding roads through the neighborhoods looking at the beautiful Victoria homes dotting the Port Townsend hilltops. In the spring and summer farmers markets open up, in the fall a Film Festival takes place in the streets and theaters. It’s a town full of artists, and creative people. In the summer a fiddle and music festival takes place, plus there are readings in the parks. If you want to camp or hike there are many places, a few are Fort Flagler Historical State Park, and Jefferson County Parks. There are also the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, the Port Townsend vineyards, the Rothschild House State Park Heritage Site, and many more historical beaches and sites. For dining there are numerous restaurants serving delightful cuisines. If you want to get out of the city and drive or take a ferry to the Peninsula for an adventure, be sure to keep Port Townsend in mind. You can also take a short beautiful ferry ride to Whidbey Island from the downtown area for another daily outing. Tomorrow is Good Friday, so everyone have a blessed Easter. Thank you for reading my blog posts. Michele

I love writing and live in the Northwest with my beloved German shepherds, Anatolian shepherd, horse, Valise Blacknose sheep and parrot. Because of COVID, I am now retired which gives me time to play and work on my farm. I’m learning to fiddle and read music; I have 8 books published, and a children's book and a coloring book of Ruger’s Adventures. I am now writing under Michaela Knight from JMMAdams.
